Rainfall is changing - it's coming down all at once or hardly ever.  In a world with such extremes, we need a solution that can encompass the wide range of weather we're seeing.  That's what AquiPor can do.

We saw a world that needed a better product, searched for it, and realized it didn't exist, so we created a patented recipe for this green concrete. It's a big deal for a world with big problems.
Rainfall is changing - it's coming down all at once or hardly ever and infrastructure in our cities is not equipped to deal with these extremes. At AquiPor, we’re changing that.

We saw a world that needed better Porous Concrete Technology that helps solve stormwater runoff pollution, urban flooding, and groundwater depletion.

The Problem

Outdated infrastructure, impervious surface area, and extreme weather have combined to bring unprecedented water-related risks to our cities.

POLLUTION

It is estimated that U.S. cities discharge over 10 Trillion gallons of polluted stormwater, wastewater, and raw sewage into clean waterways each year.

GROUND WATER DEPLETION

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), groundwater depletion in the United States has been occurring at an average rate of approximately 9.2 million acre-feet per year.

URBAN FLOODING

Urban flooding in the U.S. has caused over $850B in damages since the year 2000.

UNPREDICTABLE WEATHER

Unpredictable weather in the Western U.S. specifically has delivered extreme drought, interspersed with periods of intense rainfall. Being able to capture and utilize stormwater is an incredibly important strategy for water management and climate resiliency.

The Solution

AquiPor's Innovative Concrete Technology is a metal-based, porous concrete that we refer to as “Catalytic Concrete” because it becomes highly permeable when heated at low temperatures, features large internal surface area resulting from its nano-porous structure, and consists of a metal-phosphate matrix.

When processed as an engineered aggregate, our technology transforms normal concrete pavement into high-performing porous concrete that is capable of filtering stormwater particulates and pollutants on the surface of the material without clogging, while making concrete stronger and more durable over time. This represents a first in permeable paving technology.

Concrete produced with ‘AquiPor Inside’ features:

High Permeability:

Water infiltration rates designed for up to 10 inches of mass flow per hour.

*Pozzolanic Behavior

Internal Testing suggests additional chemical reactions with unhydrated cement molecules and strength gains in the presence of moisture. (*Subject to additional third-party testing).

*Natural Air Entrainment

Internal Testing suggests AquiPor's network of distributed pores provides natural air entrainment within concrete, offering resistance to rapid freeze-thaw. (*Subject to additional third-party testing).

Ease of Production

AquiPor's technology can be utilized in both precast or poured in place concrete, and it batches, pours, and finishes identically to traditional concrete.

Strength and Durability

Designed for minimum 5,000+ PSI compressive strength.

*Naturally Mitigates Alkali Silica Reactivity:

Our process limits the amount of micro-craking that occurs in normal concrete production. (*Subject to additional third-party testing).

The ability to filter without Clogging

Akin to a ceramic filter, AquiPor's sub-micron porosity filters out dirt, debris, and pollutants on the surface of the material, without clogging.

Vaulting Capacity

“Sponge-like” porosity enables storage capacity and the slow release of large volumes of water.

AQUIPOR AGGREGATE

A Subtle but Meaningful Breakthough

AQUIPOR AGGREGATE

- By producing and processing our technology as an engineered aggregate, it can integrate seamlessly into traditional concrete mixes turning normal concrete into high-performing porous & permeable concrete.

Seamless integration: Meets industry standards and enables rapid adoption by concrete producers.
Suitable for pavers, Precast, and Cast-In-Place.

Features high permeability and sub-micron porosity for filtration.

Enables Pozzolanic behavior in Concrete: improved curing, improved strength & durability, freeze-thaw resistance.

First of its kind product unveiling

Initial Products

Through our Process Development Phase AquiPor has proven the manufacturability of both precast and cast-in-place concrete products using our proprietary, engineered aggregates.
AquiPor porous pavers allow stormwater to flow through the paver and back into the ground naturally, while filtering sediment and pollutants onto the surface, reducing the burden on stormwater systems.

Developed for residential, commercial, and municipal stormwater management applications, AquiPor pavers feature sub-micron porosity, which allows for the filtration of stormwater runoff without clogging.
The AquiDrain product is a version of our porous concrete technology meant for sidewalk infrastructure, whether in the form of precast panels or poured in place.

AquiDrain material meets the standard strength requirements for sidewalks, but provides municipalities and property owners with the added benefit of stormwater management and flood mitigation.

Developed for residential, commercial, and municipal stormwater management applications, AquiPor pavers feature sub-micron porosity, which allows for the filtration of stormwater runoff without clogging.
AquiFlow is a pour-in-place version of our porous concrete technology that can be mixed and poured directly into desired locations on-site, where it's then finished and allowed to cure.

Developed for versatility in design, a seamless surface (fewer joints than precast), and on-site customization, our pour-in-place technology is being developed (color, texture, patterns) for larger municipal, commercial, industrial, and residential applications that call for on-site stormwater management.

From Vision to Reality and Exceeding Expectations

Technical Validation

In-house testing results have proven that concrete made with “AquiFlow” aggregates consistently yield compressive strengths surpassing 5,000 PSI - strong enough for vehicular ratings.

Our strongest mix to date yielded 28-day compressive strength of 7,169 PSI for Concrete with AquiPor Inside vs. 5,000 PSI for a standard OPC concrete mix.

AquiPor’s concrete mix implemented 10% of our catalytic concrete aggregate against the dry weight of the mix, and also required 20% less cement (6-sack mix) vs. the traditional OPC concrete control, which used a 7.5-sack mix.

Market Opportunity

Significant Growth Potential at the Intersection of Stormwater Management, Sustainable Construction, and the Water Infrastructure Markets.

Design, Procure, & Build Green
Infrastructure Projects

The business

The first tier of our business model is a design-build model in which we secure green infrastructure projects and oversee the design & engineering, procurement of materials, and construction of the project as an EPCM contractor.

Design-Build Contracts: AquiPor secures projects and oversees the design & engineering, procurement and Q.C. of AquiPor permeable products, and the construction management of each project.

Example Project: 1-mile of AquiPor's permeable sidewalk system. Estimated Revenue: $1.8M.

Cost drivers: Concrete material costs go down as supply economies of scale kick in.

Technology Licensing of AquiFlow Aggregates:

The second tier of our business model is a licensing model, in which we license our technology and sell our proprietary aggregate to established concrete paver and precast producers, helping us monetize our innovation while giving concrete producers a competitive edge in the growing sustainable construction market.

In this model we plan to include a combination of the following:

- Sales of porous, engineered aggregates

- Upfront licensing fee and/or pre-unit royalties

- Geographic exclusivity for certain producers

- Quality control and technical support
