HOW IT WORKS

AquiPor’s technology is a highly porous and permeable material that can be added to traditional concrete mixes as an engineered aggregate, transforming regular concrete into high performance porous concrete without sacrificing strength and durability.

01 LIGHTWEIGHT AGGREGATE
AquiPor’s technology is utilized as a lightweight, sand-like aggregate that creates highly porous and permeable concrete while meeting the strength and durability standards of conventional concrete.

02 SUB–MICRON POROSITY
AquiPor features sub–micron porosity, giving concrete a porous matrix capable of filtering particulates out of stormwater and facilitating water infiltration rates more in tune with natural soils.

03 ABSORPTION RATE
With absorption rates exceeding 11%, AquiPor is capable of naturally vaulting stormwater, helping reduce the runoff rate in storm events.

04 SEAMLESS INTEGRATION
AquiPor seamlessly integrates with traditional concrete manufacturing. It is suitable for dry cast pavers, precast, and pour-in-place concrete.

05 INTERNAL CURING
AquiPor enhances concrete hydration, potentially improving early strength.

1 Customizable
AquiPor is suitable for numerous concrete products and can be optimized for a range of permeability, porosity, and strength outcomes depending on design needs.

Permeability rates can be optimized and range from 1 in./hr to 20+ in./hr depending on the concrete mix and project design needs.
3 Filtration
AquiPor’s sub-micron porosity enables the filtration and treatment of stormwater runoff, keeping particulates and pollutants on the surface without clogging.
4 Cold Resistance
AquiPor naturally air-entrains concrete, providing freeze–thaw resistance in cold climates.

Ready Mix with AquiPor inside

AquiPor’s technology can be implemented in ready-mix designs for cast-in-place paving applications, including sidewalks, curb & gutter, roadway shoulders and bike lanes, and parking areas. Allowing for on-site stormwater management in the urban environment without sacrificing usable space.

Dry-Cast Pavers with 
AquiPor Inside

Pavers made with AquiPor inside can be optimized with permeability rates ranging from 1 to 50 in./hr, with the added benefit of stormwater treatment that is resistant to clogging. AquiPor pavers can be customized for a range of shapes, sizes, colors, and strength characteristics. AquiPor pavers eliminate the need for traditional, high-maintenance segmental gaps.
